L'OREAL PARIS - WATCH

14" Rolex style watch used for L'Oreal Paris promo with actor Ryan Reynolds. All watch parts were designed, modeled, programmed and fabricated by myself.

The watch was designed and modeled in Sketchup and parts were subsequently created for the CNC router in Vectric Aspire. All watch parts were programmed and cut on CNC by me. Parts were cut from MDF and the watch face holder from clear acrylic. Hour markers and watch crown were taken directly from the 3D model and 3D printed in PLA plastic.

DISNEY - ANNIE LEIBOVITZ

Mossy tower built for photoshoot with muscian Taylor Swift as Rapunzel, shot by Annie Leibovitz for Disney. My contribution to the project started with a reference photo that I used to create a 3D model of the tower structure.


I then broke out pieces of the model to be constructed and submitted conceptual renderings to the client for approval. In the end the lattice piece in front was removed and just the sill was kept

SOA - S6 - MAYHEM PROMO

Promo for Sons of Anarchy Season 6
My contribution to this project was the initial Sketchup rendering and the foam brickwork required to have the walls "explode" safely.

The walls were comprised of faux brick from www.pulpartsurfaces.com and thick urethane foam sheets.
Using a jig to hold a 3D laser scanner onto the gantry of a CNC router I scanned a few sheets of the Pulp Art Services brick pattern.
I then made a heightmap for the CNC machine to read in Vectric Aspire from the 3D scan of the paper brick. I used the CNC to then cut exact replicas of the paper wall panels out of urethane foam at a run time of roughly 40 min per sheet

SOA AFTERWORD - CNC TABLE

The table used on SOA- AFTERWORD was programmed and machined by me on a CNC router. I made a heightmap in photoshop using the existing SOA logo. I then transferred the heightmap into Vectric Aspire to make the program for the CNC router.


The table itself was constructed from planks of douglas fir which were joined together and surfaced on the CNC.

Music video for David Guetta - Alphabeat and commercial for the Renault Twizy. My contribution was taking the production designer's initial sketchup drawings and making Vray concept renderings to show the client. I also broke apart the production designers model and made construction drawings for the set shop to build.

Part of a spread in GQ Magazine for "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" featuring Seth MacFarlane and Neil deGrasse Tyson.
My contribution to the project was creating an image of the old style "Man in the Moon" to used as a heightmap for a CNC router to cut a relief into MDF.
Also, I created several small stars cut from styrene seen hanging above the moon.

OLD SPICE - SMELL AS GREAT AS NATURE IS

My contribution to this project consisted of the logs endcap and some lettering (not shown).
I used the client supplied Old Spice logo in conjuction with a vector image of tree rings I created to make an engraving in the logs MDF endcap. The lettering not shown was a cutout of the tagline "SMELL AS GREAT AS NATURE IS" and it was inset into the logs side to appear carved into the bark.

INTUIT

I was given essentially a napkin drawing of an object that was to be modeled and 3D printed for an Intuit commecial. I took the napkin drawing and made printable model components in Rhino. I sent some very quick renders to the client to show the interior lighting and the finished design.

B17 CHIN TURRET

Reverse engineer of a B17 chin turret for American Aero Services. Original turret was damaged and all that was left was a warped piece of fiberglass. 3D scan of the fiberglass unit was done by Pendragon Services Inc. in New Smyrna Beach FL. I took raw scan data and created a smoothed and complete mesh. I then converted the mesh into a surface model for import into Solidworks.


A steel buck was then created in Solidworks from the surface model so that fabricators could form sheet metal over the buck.
